Johor - Places of Interests
Johor Tourist Information Centre, Johor
Johor Tourist Information Centre (JOTIC) is a one-stop centre for visitors to get a better understanding of Johor. Beside the availability of informative print materials like brochures on Johor, there are shops selling various types of handicrafts which are mostly Johor's very own. Occasionally, visitors are entertained with live cultural performance. Traditional food can also be savoured at the centre's food court.

Sultan Abu Bakar Mosque, Johor
Officially opened by the late Sultan Ibrahim in 1890, this mosque is considered as one of the finest in Malaysia. It took 8 years to complete and can accomodate 2000 worshippers. Its architectural design and setting atop a hill with sweeping view of the Straits of Johore makes this mosque a famed landmark.

Royal Abu Bakar Museum, Johor
The museum displays the treasures of royal collection. The museum built in 1864 was also known as The Grand Palace. It has a cosmopolitan architecture with clear Anglo-Malay influence.

The Royal Mausoleum, Johor
The Royal Mausoleum has been the final resting place for royalty of Johor. The mausoleum is situated along Jalan Mahmoodiah. An area where one can't help but appreciate the serene and tranquil atmosphere befitting a resting place for eternity. The mausoleum's architecture is a fine, unique and aesthetic design of yesteryears.

Pulau Tinggi , Johor
Pulau Tinggi is a large uninhabited island. It has a long coastline and white sandy beaches dotted with caves. The seas around it are teeming with coral, fish and reef making it a photographic haven.

Endau Rompin National Park, Johor
The 488 square kilometre park encompasses the watershed of the rivers Endau in Johor and Rompin in Pahang. Lush and relatively untouched, it is among the remaining lowland forests in the country. It is home to a several rare and diverse habitats and species. Its rocks and hills have been estimated to be at least 248 million years old. Today, the park is a haven for adventure seekers.

Gunung Ledang, Johor
Straddling the Johor/Malacca border, Gunung Ledang is the highest mountain in the two southern states and can be accessed either via the Malacca or Johor route. The mountain's plateau-like summit peaks at 1,276m above sea level, and offers a panoramic view the Straits of Malacca and Sumatra coastline on a clear day. The mountain is a natural beauty with its challenging mountain trails, icy waterfalls, cascades, diverse birdlife, flora and fauna. Tales of supernatural encounters and visions of the legendary mountain princess, Puteri Gunung Ledang, are not infrequent among believers of the 'twilight zone'. Gunung Ledang is suited for picnickers, nature lovers, birdwatchers, rock-climbers and jungle trekkers and those who seek raw nature.
