Craft Complex, Kuala Lumpur
Known as Kompleks Kraf, the Malaysian handicrafts showroom act as a 'One Stop Centre' for tourists to purchase local souvenirs. The Craft Complex is near Bukit Bintang area, a famous shopping district in the city. You can choose ceramics, batik clothing, wooden ornaments and a lot more other souvenirs.
National Art Gallery, Kuala Lumpur
The National Art Gallery exhibits masterpiece sculptures. Those interested in taking photos of the gallery and artwork must obtain a pass.
Sultan Abdul Samad Building, Kuala Lumpur
Infokraf, a centre for Malaysian handicrafts is located in Sultan Abdul Samad Building. It was built in 1897 to house the various administrative departments of the British Government. Historian and architects are usually visits this building for its Moorish features. The Supreme and High Courts are also located in this building.
Central Market, Kuala Lumpur
Local artists demonstrate their skills and display their work here. There are numerous shops and stalls that sell bric-a-brac, antiques, souvenirs, handicrafts and Asian artifacts. An open-air stage serves as the regular venue for traditional and contemporary dances as well as musical concerts.
Biomedical Museum, Jalan Pahang, Kuala Lumpur
The biomedical Museum of the Institute of Medical Research was established in 1983. It showcases medical research materials since 1900s and materials on public health problems in the country, current research activities and those related to teaching, training and research. Collections in the museum include Malaysian fauna of medical significance such as mammals, reptiles, insects and parasites.It is open from Monday to Friday from 7.30am to 4.45pm.It closes at 12.15- 2.45 on Fridays for prayer. Saturday closed.
Masjid Jamek, Kuala Lumpur
It is located behind the Sultan Abdul Samad building right at the tip of the confluence of the Klang and Gombak Rivers where Kuala Lumpur had its beginnings. The mosque was designed by a British architect, A.B Hubbocks and was built in 1909. It is a stunning example of Indian Muslim architecture with a distinguished onion-shaped domes, arched Colonnades and shiny, cooling marble floors. Its red brick walls is eye-catching .It is set in a peaceful surrounding of shady grove of palm trees that forms a green protective border that seems to keep tall and gigantic stone structures at bay.
National History Museum, Kuala Lumpur
It is within the premise of an old building situated at the edge of a junction adjacent to Dataran Merdeka along Jalan Raja Laut. It exhibits artifacts and materials that shows Malaysian's rich historical heritage. Exhibits include 520 million year old metamorphic sandstone, a 40,000-year-old homosapien skull and an eight-sided gold coin dating back to the 15th century. It opens 9am - 6pm daily. Admission is free.
National Museum, Kuala Lumpur
Located at the fringe of Taman Tasik Perdana (The Lake Gardens) this palatial building was designed along the lines of classical Malay Architecture and is the principal museum in the country. It has an impressive collection of exhibits on local history, culture and custom, arts and handicraft, weapons and currencies. Exhibits on economic activities like rubber planting, tin-mining and some samples of Malaysia's flora and fauna are also on show. Outdoor static displays include old locomotives, vintage cars and replicas of ancient Malay Palaces.
Putrajaya City, Putrajaya
The Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) project comes with the introduction of two new cities namely Putrajaya and Cyberjaya. Putrajaya will become the new administration capital of Malaysia while its neighbouring Cyberjaya functions as MSC's city of commerce and technology. Putrajaya was named after the late Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj, Malaysia's first Prime Minister. Upon full completion it will be the nation's most beautiful city.
Putra World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur
The Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) is Malaysia's main conference and conventions centre. It was named after Malaysia's first Prime Minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj. The design of the building is based on Malay Architecture with its large arch resembling its importance and grandeur. PWTC is built adjacent to the UMNO (Malaysia's ruling political party) building and the Pan Pacific Hotel.
Templer Park
A popular 1,214 hectare forest reserve with waterfalls and jungle trails, just half an hour's drive from the city. Its rich natural wilderness beauty attracts nature lovers, photographers and picnickers.

The Forest Research Institute of Malaysia (FRIM)
Located in Kepong, 16 km northwest of Kuala Lumpur. It is a 600 hectares of forest science park. Experience the wonders of a tropical forest without the rigors of traveling to national parks. Enjoy the canopy walkways, waterfalls and jungle trails. Also available a herbarium, library and a museum on different species of woods.
